The inspiration for this painting came from the foothills of the Crowsnest Pass / Pincher Creek. If you have explored the area you know that it is one of the windiest places in Canada. In this gusty environment there is one iconic type of tree that dominates the landscape. The Limber Pine.
The wind twisted trunks and limbs and fact that these trees are usually clinging to rocky outcrops make these pines one of the most dramatic and beautiful trees I know of. They generally lean in one direction so they feel like they are in motion even if its a calm day. This painting does not however depict one of those days but rather a day full of energy with swirling clouds and dramatic light... And the Limber Pine soaking it all in.

This 24" X 30" original painting comes gallery wrapped with finished sides on a beefy 1 3/4" stretcher and is ready to hang.
