Columbia Lake
This print features Columbia Lake in the East Kootenays. This beautiful lake is the head waters for the mighty Columbia River. Its amazes me that the the southern tip of the lake is only a few KM away from the Kootenay River. The Columbia River heads north past golden and then decides to turn around and head south to Revelstoke and turns into the Arrow Lakes. The Kootenay in contrast flows south, into the states and also turns around, comes back to Canada and becomes Kootenay Lake. Finally the two water systems reunite in Castlegar BC. From there they head into the States and out to the Pacific Ocean, but not before carving out the Columbia River Gorge in Washington.
